Out of all of the culinary concepts framed on the combination of disparate cuisines, Korean tapas arguably emerges as the most interesting. Anchored by this concept, Chef Kay Hyun has confidently imprinted her name, skills and imagination on the East Village with Thursday Kitchen and Mokyo, each of which offer subtly different riffs on Korean tapas. Mokyo’s dining area is welcoming and homey, but the food skews upscale. Experimental combinations abound; for instance, crispy cauliflower with gochujang glaze and raisin labneh (on the right in the picture below).
